You're right - I should have used the USS Stark (FFG-31) as a better comparison. Fully loaded, the Stark is half the tonnage of the Arleigh Burke, but when the Stark (which was launched the year after the Moskva) was hit by two Exocet missiles, it still survived to serve another 12 years before it was decommissioned.
