You completely misunderstood. The conservatives in Sweden actually listen to the government and to the scientists. Those who claim to be conservatives here in America mostly don’t.

For instance, are the people in Sweden actually working together to practice social distancing? Yeah. But take a look at the “conservatives” at the protests here in America — it’s as if they’re all infected with Br’er Fox syndrome: “Oh, you liberals and scientists are telling us to do social distancing to help save our own lives? Then that’s NOT what we’re gonna do!”

In other words, America’s “conservatives” are NOT conservative. They’re reactionaries who just call themselves conservative. The last real conservative Republican president was Eisenhower, who supported unions and equal pay for women and accepting refugees and assisting the poor…and who was the last Republican president to have a surplus. None of the other since have even cut the deficit.
