While it does feel good to throw up our hands in frustration and say, "to hell with it, let them go their own way and good riddance!", one would be better served by looking a bit more closely at the devils in the details...for they are legion.
Yes, our blue states have healthier, more highly-educated, and less-violent populations and more vibrant economies...but to split up the nation means splitting up the military. How would that be done, not only with all the units, but especially the nukes. Do you really think either side would give up all their nukes after what's happening to Ukraine?
And Blue would likely be split between two coasts, while Red would control the heartland. Do you really think a Red nation - controlled by authoritarian fascists, jealous of the economic success of Blue, and perpetually controlled by far-right Putin-loving media - would refrain from eventually attacking? This would lead what had been a *United* States of America down a very dark road indeed.
Again, while it feels good to tell red-state idiots to GTFO and don't let the door hit 'em where the good Lord split 'em, it's not *wise*, not at all. It would be the worst mistake America's ever made (which, given our history, is not easy to do).
So please don't listen to your frustration, and instead fight the good fight, the one that doesn't lead millions of innocent Americans down such a dark path.
