“ When White people and those passing as White are comfortable in inequality and inequity, refusing to speak out, stand up, and vote out people who influence the bad in them, they have become victims of groupthink — no matter how liberal or progressive they say they are.”
Yes, I’m liberal. Yes, I’m progressive. And yes, your observation is spot on.
But what’s really going to change this isn’t any conscious decision by Whites, but the overall lessening of the power and influence that Whites wield. America will be majority-minority in a couple decades, and this will lessen the degree of White power and influence. The same goes for western Europe, though not so much for eastern Europe (which I suspect will remain strongly in the grip of White supremacists long after I’m in the grave).
What that previous paragraph means is that White supremacy is stagnating and will (relatively) soon begin to lessen. In its place we’re going to see the rise of Asian supremacy…and if the Chinese treatment of Uighur Muslims and Tibetans is any indication, they’re not going to be much better than Whites were over the past few centuries.
None of the above includes much in the way of good news for the Black community of the world. Fortunately, history has a habit of going places that people never see coming, and I’d dearly love to be wrong.
