When presented with information that goes against what a man’s been told all his life, by family members he’s always trusted, it’s very hard to accept the new information. I know how that feels.

But in this case, you’ve been told things that are lacking in the accuracy department. No, I’m not calling anyone a liar, because when your dad told you the plans for his unit, I’m sure he believed that to be the truth until his dying day. But that does not mean that what he believed was factual.

Were you aware that Eisenhower was *against* using the atomic bomb, and that Halsey, Nimitz, and “Hap” Arnold all are quoted as saying the atomic bombs played NO part in the Japanese surrender?

What’s more, thanks to the codes broken long before, we already knew that Japan was trying to use diplomatic channels through Moscow — yes, Moscow — to negotiate a surrender. So much for the claim that the Japanese were never going to surrender….

You can read all about it here.
