  1. We *do* have working tokamaks — we simply don’t have ones that are producing more energy than is used to maintain the reaction taking place inside yet.
  2. It appears you misunderstood the article. Her aim was never to have “tokamak-powered” engines, but to have a new type of ion thrusters producing a plasma similar to that which she saw within a functioning tokamak. I will say that if my explanation led you to make the wrong conclusion, then that is because of my own shortcomings as a writer, and for that I must apologize.
  3. That being said, the main purpose of the article was to discuss not the science, but immigration and the folly of rejecting out-of-hand those who look/speak/worship differently from ourselves.
