True. On a side note, my retirement ceremony on the USS Abraham Lincoln was the day before 9/11 - they gave me the option to stay in because of what had just happened, and I decided that it was time for me to go home and take care of the family.

The great thing about not delaying my retirement is that I didn't have to see Bush come aboard MY ship with that [expletives deleted] banner and listen to him. I would have been working Security, so if I had stayed on, I probably wouldn't have had to deal with Bush directly, since I was the only openly-liberal person in the department.
