There is a problem with your article. Let’s assume that you are absolutely correct that infections have indeed peaked in Georgia, and you may well be — I’m not going to argue that you aren’t.

The problem is if GA businesses are opened too early, if the population of the state begins going to and from businesses too quickly, then the state is looking at the very real possibility not just of a second peak, but of being forced into another state lockdown.

Avoiding the possibility of a second state lockdown is why most states are being very careful about how quickly their economies are opened up. That’s why we’re moving so slowly here in Washington state…and we’ve set the national standard in how to respond to and recover from COVID-19.
