The previous version was how I was taught the rhyme when I was young in the MS Delta. Once we heard the 'new' version with 'tiger', we knew why the change had been made, but being the racists we were (though none of us considered ourselves racist), we thought that such political correctness was silly.

I'm just glad that I got away from all that, though the rest of my family there never did.
