The only thing I would say is that the lack of child care is not a major cause of Japan’s depopulation. It’s their greatly-increased standard of living. The same holds true all over the world: when the living standard increases (especially that if the women), the birth rate decreases. The only real way for a first-world nation to maintain a stable population is to have a robust immigration system…and that’s the biggest problem that Japan (and soon, China) faces: the lack of any societal tradition of sincerely welcoming immigrants.
