The higher the average educational level of a demographic , the more liberal that demographic is likely to be (compared to the norms of the larger population of which that demographic is a part). Sorry, but that is the reality of the modern day. This is further evinced by polls showing that a growing number of conservatives have a negative opinion of higher education. In fact, just two days ago a poll was released showing half of conservatives do not trust science.

As a whole, Medium’s writers have a significantly above-average educational level than that of the average American citizen (and yes, the largest demographic among Medium users does seem to be American).

In other words, the “liberalization” of Medium is probably less a matter of policy, and more of a matter of the educational level of its members.

If you want to disprove this, it could be easily done by pointing out a site of similar quality wherein the membership is majority-conservative. I’m not aware of any such sites, but I could be wrong.
