Quite so, and well said. I hate it when Hollywood and the media moguls fabricate well-known and -documented history - which btw is the major reason I don't like Quentin Tarentino (Inglorious Basterds).

And if you're ever in Florence, there's several restaurants that serve in the plaza outside the Uffizi, and one of them forever ruined tiramisu for me...because I've never had any even half as good anywhere else. The best way to experience Florence IMO is to take bus 23 and hop on and off whenever something strikes your fancy. But make sure you keep your bus ticket updated - we saw the police come on board and escort off someone who was riding with an expired ticket.
