Okay, I’ve just gotta respond to this. Having been raised with “proper” American table manners, the Filipino (“Pinoy” is also proper) way of using a fork to push food into a spoon is simple and — in all honesty — more practical, especially given that the normal Filipino meal is sticky rice served with a dish that has been sauteed or diced-and-fried or cooked in some other way that leaves a savory sauce to season the rice.

I know, I know, the article was about the controversy and not the culinary habits themselves, but I just had to speak up. But I do appreciate the article :)
