No, my intended audience is, well, almost everyone. I speak to those who (like myself) fight racism to help them better understand those against whom they are fighting…and I speak to those who do not recognize their own racism for what it is. The only ones to whom my article is not directed is to those who are racist, who know it, accept it, and somehow revel in it.

As I pointed out in the article and in a previous reply to you, most of those who are racist don’t even realize that they are racist, for most of them believe they can’t be racist since they don’t personally feel any actual malice towards those of another race based merely on the color of their skin. To me, racism does not require malice, but only requires untoward assumptions about those of another race.

Bearing that in mind, would you agree that most people in this world are not malicious towards others? That is what I believe. I believe that the great majority of people in this world are (even though cultures and religions may vary wildly) good and kind and well-meaning and hold no personal malice towards others based simply on how they were born…yet many (and perhaps even a majority) of people in this world do nonetheless harbor untoward assumptions about those of other races…and are therefore racist according to my definition. This applies not just to racial prejudices, but also for ethnic and religious prejudices as well.

That is why I say that most racists are not hateful, for most of them don’t recognize their own racism for what it is.

On a side note, I’m the only 100% white in my family (since all my birth family except for distant cousins have all passed away).
