Nah. I'd so most wars are about either pride, ideology, or religion. Many are about resources, absolutely - but most are not.

Look at the Mongols - they built what is still the largest contiguous empire in human history, and their aim was never about resources, but about what they truly believe was their destiny: ruling the known world.

And then there's the Thirty-Years War - it was all about religion. How many wars did the Catholics and Protestants fight with each other over religion? The Taiping Rebellion - 20M people died - and it was about religion. Look at all the wars between the Shi'a and the Sunni. Heck, the Napoleonic wars were mostly about personal pride. So was most of WWI.
