My strong agreement with the rest of your article aside, why, oh why did you have to go mention all these? Do you not know that I can't get good Southern food out here Seattle way for love or money unless I cook it myself? And it's like pulling eyeteeth finding good ham hocks at the local Safeway here!...but at least they do sell *unsweetened* corn meal (can't stand sweet cornbread). They have collard greens (which I've never liked), but it's not often one sees mustard greens (which I love) for sale out here. And as for the kind of BBQ chicken and ribs you have probably just down the street...it just ain't happening in the Pacific Northwest.

I don't miss much from the South, but I do miss the food. If my family starts griping about me hogging the kitchen for the next few days, it's your fault!
