Learn some chemistry and do some math.

Every gallon of gasoline that is burned creates about 20.6 pounds of atmospheric CO2. That's not a wild claim. It's chemistry. Look it up.

Now let's say that every car in use consumes about 15 gallons of gas a week, an amount I think you'd agree is on the low side.

There's about a half billion automobiles operating every day of every year on this planet. So multiply 15 gallons by a half billion. Then multiply that total by 52, since there's 52 weeks in a year.

In other words, from automobiles *alone* we're pumping *gigatonnes* of CO2 into our atmosphere from a source it never faced before. And that's not counting from ships, trains, military vehicles, aircraft, or the hundreds of thousands of factories in operation. And BTW, the annual CO2 total from volcanos is *far* less than it is from automobiles.

So how many years do you think we can continue pumping several gigatonnes of a greenhouse gas into our atmosphere without it having an effect on our atmosphere?

This isn't a wild-eyed moonbeam liberal claim. This is simple chemistry and grade-school math.

It takes courage to admit you're wrong. I'm not asking you to admit error to me...but at least have the courage to admit it to yourself.
