Imodium. If only I’d had that the first time I visited Dubai, for my first experience with shawarmas bought from a street vendor. Best shawarmas ever! And the price so paid was 31 trips to the head (Navy-speak for the bathroom) over the next 24 hours (yes, I kept count - because OCD)…because this was back when Imodium hadn’t been invented yet, and the best thing to be had was Pepto-Bismol, the Pink Stuff From Hell.

But I still love a good shawarma, and I never travel without Imodium.
