I strongly agree that other nations will step up to fill a void left by China, but it will still mean China will not be the economic powerhouse it currently is.

I also strongly agree about the danger we face from global warming and environmental collapse (especially the effects of the acidification of the world's oceans). One might say with a degree of accuracy that my article is disingenuous in that it was written with the full knowledge that it does not take into account the slow-motion global disaster of global warming.
