I quite agree that "smart people are...creating survival strategies". That really is one reason I own a home overseas. BUT it is nonetheless very naive to assume your vote doesn't count - the fascists know that votes DO count, which is why we've got a far-right SCOTUS today.

In all honesty, the motivation for the excuse you're giving for refusing to vote is little different from the excuse many Republicans give for not supporting measures to mitigate climate change: "We can't do anything that would actually stop climate change, so why should we do anything about it at all?"
