…everity where a 7 is 10 times more powerful than a 6. We also use it for measuring sound amplitude. Decibels are tenths of Bels which is a logarithmic scale. A sound that is 5 Bels is 10 times louder than a sound that is 4 Bels.
Logarithmic time may explain the beginning
