I am 100% against the death penalty…but for the life of me I can’t blame Scarver.

All of us want our lives to mean something — even those of us in prison for life. Scarver found a way to give his life what to him (and to the families of the other men’s victims) was positive meaning. He not only earned a great deal of respect from his fellow inmates (at least the ones who weren’t white supremacists), but as he grows old behind bars, this will give him a measure of comfort as the days grow cold.
