Here’s two facts:

1: To say that one race is naturally more racist than any other racist is itself a racist statement. For example, it would absolutely be racist to state that all Whites are naturally more racist than any other race.

2: Whites commit by far the most acts — and the most egregious acts — of racism in America.

Both those statements are demonstrably factual. But how can BOTH be true?

That’s the question that bothered me for a long, long time as I began to recognize how racist my entire family in Mississippi was.

In my travels overseas, I began to see racism everywhere — not just by Whites (though I certainly had white privilege everywhere I went), but by the locals. The Han Chinese are very racist against the Uighurs and the Tibetans. The ‘normal’ Japanese are racist against the indigenous Ainu of Hokkaido. The Brahmins of India are very racist against the Desi (‘untouchables’). Emiratis are very racist against Indians and Pakistanis. Hispanic Mexicans are racist against indigenous Native Mexicans (analogous to Native Americans).

Do you see the common thread?

That’s the solution to the question I posed above. Here’s the rule:

“In any given nation or region, the race or ethnicity that is socioeconomically dominant will be the most racist and will commit the most egregious acts of racism.”

This is true in EVERY nation on the planet. It’s not an American thing, but a human thing.

(a side note — the principle also applies to socioeconomically-dominant religions)

That, ma’am, is why even though no race is more “racist” than any other, in America, White Americans are the most racist and commit the most acts (and the most egregious acts) of racism.

So when it comes to your particular example, even though Medium is an international site with an international audience, when it comes to articles about racism in America, the great majority of articles *should* be about racism by Whites…because in America, we Whites ARE the most racist and commit by far the most racist acts.
