Concerning "socialism is a failed economic model":
Would you agree with the statement that if ALL the most successful nations follow a particular model, then that model is the *most* successful model? You probably would.
Here goes: in terms of personal prosperity, rights, safety, freedom of movement, and national development, ALL the most successful nations are first-world democracies, ALL of which are significantly socialized - including America. This has been the case for over half a century.
In other words, small-d democratic socialism is not a failed model, but the MOST SUCCESSFUL model...and all the right-wing pundits claiming 'Venezuela! Venezuela! Venezuela!" can't change that fact...because like all the other examples y'all use to claim socialism is a failure, Venezuela is NOT a true and stable democracy.
Next time, instead of parroting tropes that you *want* to believe, consider not just the evidence that supports your views, but ALSO consider the evidence that directly contradicts your views. Only then can you consider yourself truly objective.
