But — and I think I mentioned this in the article — the Battle of Moscow (which was in several ways more decisive than Stalingrad) was already decided before the Lend/Lease materials began to arrive in numbers. What’s more, the Soviets really didn’t care for the planes and tanks we sent, for they were not built to withstand the Russian winter and the mud that followed.

What we sent through Lend/Lease did help (esp. when it came to the trucks, jeeps, and food), but the help we sent was by no means decisive. It helped shorten the war, but that’s all.
