On a side note, I was never once able to write a program using assembly that would properly compile and run.

On another side note, I found that programming requires the same basic set of skills as does writing and music. Someone who knows how to write a good story (including keeping it technically correct), and those who know how to write a good song, to compose a good melody, will be good at programming.
