Another lesson learned: if there's no peanut oil to use for the turkey fryer, do *not* use Wesson oil with a full can of Planters peanuts added to make up for the lack of peanut oil.

Every bit of skin on the turkey will turn jet black. The meat will still be good, but it makes for a truly awkward presentation on the table.

Not that I have any first-hand experience at this, of course....
